Meet the team
There’s nothing better than putting a face to a name so without further ado let’s introduce the warm and welcoming team behind Smiles of Diamond Creek…
Dr Sonia Sahota
Before you speak to Dr Sonia, you’ll be greeted by her beaming smile. Sonia doesn’t just love dentistry, she loves meeting her patients too, so get ready for a warm welcome and maybe even a tasty recipe idea.
Sonia graduated from LaTrobe university with a Masters in Dentistry. In all the years she’s been practicing one thing has always stood out, her passion for high quality dentistry and building her patient’s confidence by giving them strong, healthy smiles. She loves to find ways to help patients stay relaxed and comfortable during their visit; that’s why Smiles of Diamond Creek provides all the little extras, such as Netflix and neck pillows.
Sonia is no stranger to living outside the big cities. She spent many years working in country South Australia and across the South and Western regions of Melbourne. It wasn’t a love of sparkling jewels that drew Sonia to Diamond Creek though, it was the enjoyment of working in a close-knit community where her patients become friends.
After working in rural and regional Australia for many years, Dr Sujana brings a wealth of experience to Smiles of Diamond Creek. With a strong interest in cosmetic dentistry and children’s oral health, and an incredible talent for art and crafts, we know you’re going to love her.
Dr Sujana graduated from La Trobe University in Bendigo with a Masters in Dentistry then hit the road to share her skills across rural Australia. Sujana has worked in Bendigo, Ballarat, Albury, Wodonga, Ararat and Alexandra before making Diamond Creek her home. So, it’s safe to say she’s more of a country person than a City slicker!
Outside of work, Sujana has many talents. She loves to attend painting classes, and drawing and painting portraits and cartoons in her spare time. Sujana is also partial to a bit of knitting, which she learned when was in grade 6, and is no stranger to music either; she’s currently learning to play the ukulele and loves to dance (but it might be best to stand back as she admits she’s not very coordinated!). Her favourite animals are elephants, pandas, sloths and…Winnie the Pooh! Dr Sujana is definitely the right Dentist to see if you’ve eaten too much honey.
Skye studied at RMIT and has now been in the dental industry for over 8 years. She’s a perfect fit to work at Smiles of Diamond Creek as she loves meeting new people every day and helping them get the help they need.
As well as being our expert dental assistant, Skye is also known for having a touch of wanderlust, and loves travelling far and wide. But it’s not all about fun and relaxing, her most recent trip was to a wildlife farm in Namibia where she volunteered on a research program with wild dogs and elephants. Skye now has a strong interest in learning more about wildlife conservation and will no doubt be out volunteering again soon.
Closer to home, Skye continues her love of animals with her beautiful 3 year old fur baby, a Maremma called Leonardo. ‘I love him more than anything’, she admits. Lucky Leonardo!
